Radar Shuts Off

I have Raymarine RL70C unit that works great when the engine is running or if the boat is plugged in to shore power. But when I just am on the battery bank, it shuts down almost immediately with a message "Scanner not Connected". I believe that most likely I have a reduction in voltage to the unit that is causing this that is overcome when I'm pumping voltage to the batteries at 13+ volts by either the alternator or the battery charger. Before I take everything apart I'm wondering if anyone has another idea of the cause of my problem.

Measure your voltage at the battery. And at the power wire connection point. Prefably With unit on. And charging off.
