I have everything I need now to mount my new
radar pole. Our sailboat has a canoe stern with the a raised
cockpit coaming boards which go all the way around the
cockpit. So, my first thought was to mount the base on the vertical to the back side of the
fiberglass cockpit coaming boards. The
davits are attached there as well, so it is plenty strong enough. After looking closer at this with the
outboard engine lift it only has an arm length of 26" which will drag the
outboard up the side of the
boat. So, i'm looking to potentially mount the pole on the
hull and outside of the stern pulpit. I know my question is
boat specific, but any preferences to mounting a
radar pole on the inside or outside on the stern pulpit? Any potential problems with mounting it outside?
Thank you,
Dave
