Problem with SSB

Good morning,
I have on board a icom 706 MKIIG coupled with a SEA antenna tuner.

Looks like the tuner is not tuning.
I check the power on the tuner and is ok but when I transmit I cannot ear any click of tuning.

I'm now in Brunswick, Ga.
I tried to contact the local ham club but no luck so far.
Any suggestion??

Thank you
Roberto

Re: Problem with SSB

I'm not sure ICOM is going to help much with an SEA tuner. I would first try and disconnect the antenna and hit the tune button. If you hear a lot of clacking, shut it off. Look at all of the connections, especially the cables and the antenna at both the tuner and the backstay/whip, whatever you are using. If they are all good, check internal fuses, I can't remember if they have internal fuses in the SEA. But it's a start. Chuck

Re: Problem with SSB

Thank you for the contact anchorage guy.
I sent an email to the manufacture and I will see what they will answer but I hope to find an amateur radio that will be so kind to have a look....

Phone Stevens Engineering Associates (SEA), 425 771-2182, ask for tech support and discuss the problem. Their website is SEA Marine Communications International - American Technology that talks to the World
