Power for AIS separate circuit or from and existing one?

Getting ready to install a class b transceiver and am trying to decide how to power it. Should I run a dedicated circuit from the dist panel or maybe just steal power from the 12v outlet circuit that will be used to power the laptop that's running the nav software? I could also get it from the radar circuit or VHF which are all close by. Whichever I choose I will probably still install the switch for turning off transmit mode.

Either will work. Just keep an inline fuse for the AIS itself.

I ran a dedicated circuit for the AIS itself in case another load on the same circuit popped a breaker, the AIS would remain transmitting my position. You probably want to do the same thing for all your safety related electronics, like your VHF.
