I'm interested. I haven't been able to find the time yet to play with openplotter, but one of my PIs are earmarked for it. Having a cloud based platform backing it would be really cool. Can think of a ton of interesting things to do with the data... As far as skills, doing back end server development, including AWS is "my thing", and I'd love to participate..

Well, this is getting really interesting... let's go then!
Let me talk to Vamonos about how we can organize this and I will report.

Re: OpenPlotter project
Anyone else having problems with Rasp Pi2 crashing?
Mine wouldn't last more than a few hours before either hanging or crashing so after digging around in the logs I found a lot of these..
rsyslogd-2007: action 'action 17' suspended, next retry
Google came up with this fix which, fingers crossed, seems to have cured the problem.

Raspberry Pi 3 - YAY!!!
SD card from the Pi2 worked without needing to be touched, exactly the same, but... faster!

That's GREAT news. How much faster? Any way you could post a video comparing the two? Maybe panning a chart?

Have you tested OP v0.6.0? Someone reported malfunctions but without specifying.

I'm pretty sure it's the latest v0.7, I could try v0.6 but probably not for a few days. Going sailing
The only problems I've had were solved re. a few posts ago.
Video uploading now, plus I'll do a link of one not that long ago but before hardware openGl. So much progress with the Pi's so quickly.
I think my cubietruck will stay packed away

I've tried OpenPlotter on an old RPI (1) and it works fine. On a new RPI 3 I have problems with the screen(driver?) My HDMI display is only partly used (square only) and the image shown is a kind of rainbow pattern, and that's the only image shown. My new Pi works well with a standard Raspian or Ubuntu MATE with no problems whatsoever.
Who had idea's what the problem is??
Regards,
Michel.

That means you don't have a sufficient power supply. Under volt warning.

Re: OpenPlotter project
Why they did that rather than a more descriptive icon or text error... That I can't explain.

Hi Saaqara,
Thanks for jumping in but de RPI 3 works perfectly with the other operating systems I did not change anything to the hardware including the powersupply

Re: OpenPlotter project
Hi!
My name is Martin and I am from germany. I am very interested in the OpenPlotter Project, especially in the monitor/ security capabilities.
I know, that is not the core OpenPlotter was designed for, but I guess, here are a lot of people, that have the technical knowledge.
OpenPlotter should run on the boat when I am at home (1,5h to the boat), and alert me in case of abnormal conditions.
The following features I would like to have:
SMS sensor status and alarms
2-4 temperature sensors
humidity sensor
water in bilge sensor
low battery power alarm
shore power off alarm
security alarm (sensors?)
relay switch AC current
Normaly i have WLAN and shore power, but the system should function without for 3 days, without drowing the on board batteries (200Ah).
I am shure technically that can be done, but I am a RPI and Linux idiot. I guess I can configure the RPI, but I am not capable of e.g. phyton scripting.
Any ideas?
best regards,
Martin

Re: OpenPlotter project
Hi,
I am Martin from Germany an especially interested in the boat monitor features.
For the beginning I have two questions:
Is there already a SMS alert function running?
Should I already get the RPI 3 when starting with OpenPlotter?
best regard,
Martin
