$OPXDR,P,1.0004,B,AIRP,C,17.1,C,AIRT*45

Is it possible to change one of the the to to an other message, for example --XDR for the DS18B20?
Do you mean to change the talker OP? yes, edit this file on line 52
https://github.com/sailoog/openplott...r/sensors_b.py

Anyway, you are using an old openplotter. Now sensors generate $OSXDR sentences and calculated values like True wind generates $OCXDR sentences. Download openplotter v0.6.0.

I am doing changes in the new release and I will publish all the NMEA rules soon.

Sailoog, does the reference to the Ubuntu-repositories work for RPi?

Both Ubuntu and Raspbian are based on Debian Linux so yes but be careful Raspbian has lots of modified packages and you can overwrite some important thing.

I upgraded to 4.2 yesterday (thx for the cmd line help Sailoog)
Performance improvement is noticable but there seem to be issues with plugin installation/purging and none of mine (except status bar) currently work (all greyed out) I believe that it has been reported but if anyone has any ideas ...

So can you not clink on one to select and enable?

Sorry, I'm sure you've checked already, but after the upgrade this got me - have you tried making the window much wider? I thought the same at first but the enable button was hidden, making the window wider revealed it.

Thanks Conachair

YUP you're right.
If I open up the window to its max width (Approx 90% of screen width) I can just see the edge of the enable button peeking out.

So, I have some sort of window/screen issue and not a plugin issue

I have not experience with winlink on raspbian or ARM platforms. Has anyone tested it with pactor or sound card?

There is a better way to access winlink with ARM Linux using BPQ and a a Mail client.

Here is the downloads page for BPQ:
BPQ32/LinBPQ Download Links

On there you can find the executables for windoze and Raspberry Pi.

Here are the instructions for installing on the Rpi:
Notes on installing and running LINBPQ

Note that there are differences for auto-starting on Debian Jesse vs. Wheezy.

Here are some notes on the installation process, including links to a configuration file.
Amateur Radio Station AG6QO - Notes on Installing pilinbpq

You can download this as a place to start if you like.
It's got more ports and capabilities than you'll need. More than likely you'll need only two ports, the PACTOR one and the Telnet one (you'll need telnet if you want to do control/configuration over your LAN). Also got an AXIP port, two 2m AX25 ports, and one 1.25m AX25 port.

You can also find some notes on the main configuration screens here:
BPQ SYSOP Notes - AG6QO

Re: OpenPlotter project

Sailoog, you are genius. I love it!

I've been playing around with a rpi and an arduino for awhile trying to do basically the same thing, and here it is! And it all works! (I had limited success on my own )

I'm hoping to do some cruising in the Med at some point, hopefully I'll get a chance to buy you a beer!

If you would like any help (testing, documentation, etc.), let me know!

Re: OpenPlotter project

Sailoog - Help!
OK, I'm trying to get data from an arduino into signalk.
Wind data is working, from a nasa sensor which sends the wrong nmea0183 checksum, the arduino recalcs that. All good so far.
So apparently it's better just to send straight signalk strings..

Quote:
Unless you need NMEA0183 output for something (like streaming to Apps) it is a lot more efficient to just parse line oriented Signal K delta coming from the Arduino.
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!to...lk/R6cmNYAxghc

So, I realize this is more of a signalk thing but I feel I'm so far over my head any info is useful - so does openplotter just push whatever it sees on the nmea comm ports to signalk or is it just nmea sentences with a good checksum?
I'm assuming that's where signalK gets the com port data from.
Any tips how I can survive this rapid JSON learning curve are most grateful

Calculated data (true wind, ROT...), SDR AIS data and sensor data are converted into NMEA data and sent to UDP localhost 10110.

Then openplotter (kplex) combines UDP localhost 10110 data with all the serial and network devices created by user in an unique data steam on TCP localhost 10110. OpenCPN reads from this stream.

You could take data from TCP localhost 10110, filter it and sent it to another port. Finally you could set opencpn to read from this new port.
Against your advice (and probably my own good opinion, too), I decided to ditch the Arduino altogether and give it a go. Besides, I think what you're doing with OpenPlotter is way cooler than what I wanted to do, and why duplicate effort?

But I do have one question: does OpenPlotter (or OpenCPN on this distro) dampen or smooth out heading or wind or any other data?

Can I also change it directly on the PI2? Where can I then find the file?

Thanks for the links akopac, I will give it a go when I have more time. Do you have the system working?

Absolutely yes. Test and report bugs and suggestions. Here is the documentation:
https://sailoog.gitbooks.io/openplot.../en/index.html

You will see finished chapters, in progress chapters and non started chapters. If you want, choose some non started chapter (greyed out), I will give some guidelines to you and you could help a lot.
