NV Charts on OpenCPN

I have downloaded a chart set from NV Charts as well as the plugin on OpenCPN. I am at the stage to link OpenCPN to the file containing the charts. One small problem...WHERE THE HELL ARE THE CHARTS? Anyone know where the file containing the NVcharts is on my computer?

I can't say where NV might put downloaded files as I installed mine from a DVD, but Windows 7 and 8 will normally put all downloaded files in a "Download" folder. This folder is normally displayed by Windows Explorer under the "This PC" and/or "Favorites" groups. Windows xp uses a similar folder arrangement. If you have a Mac, i can't help you.

If you know the file extension you can do a search from the cmd prompt.

Open cmd prompt.
cd c:\
dir *.txt /s

That will do a recursive search of all folders on your computer (of course change the file extension to the proper one).
