Question Nobeltec & USB GPS antennas

Hi all, wondering anyone has used the USB antenna that is bundled in the MS Streets & Trips software with Nobeltec nav software?

Thanks
David

setup USB GPS

I just setup Dragon Fly's PC with the USb GPS.

The installation was fairly straight forward and worked well. Just have to make sure that it doesn't conflict any other devices. Gave some trouble on a remote keyboard.

The only downside I saw was that it needs to be placed outside of the cabin to get a clear lock on the signals and the construction was the best for long term weathering.

One other point that I didn't like was you are dependent upon you computer not failing. If you computer fails you have no GPS. I have Nobeltech 7 and use a Lowrance GPS as a stand alone and then pipe it into the computer. It also let us up load the route to the GPS on the helm and turn of the power hungry laptop.
