NN3d MaxseaTZ South Pacific

Does anyone have recent experiece with charts for Navnet 3D and Maxsea TimeZero in the South Pacific?

We are looking to make the run this coming season.

I've read the posts from last year, which suggested that the c-map data was good, and that navionics data was not so good--BUT none of those posts were based on first hand experience specifically in the south pacific.

There are some posts from 2010 that say in french polynesia they had better luck with navionics.

My plan is to get the cmap data for Aus/NZ and the SP. And I was thinking of supplementing this with the french mapmedia raster data for FP and New Cal. But was considering getting the navionics data, as it would also cover other areas where Cmap doesn't cover.

Any current information/experience would be appreciated.

Thx,
Arthur

Re: NN3d MaxseaTZ South Pacific

I did the Galapagos - Nuka Hiva - Tahiti - Bora Bora - Tonga to Opua run this year with NN3d charts by C-Map. In my experience i didn't find any difficulties or major inaccuracies with the C-map data.

I did not have a very good experience with the NN3D Mapmedia charts in the Caribbean, which is why I switched.

But as well don't have a comparison of the pacific charts C-map vs MM, as I only carried C-map charts after the bad experience in the Caribbean.

Hope this helps,
Michael

Michael,
How well did the C-Map NN3D charts do in the Tuamotus?

I was going to ask the same question.
I heard that the french charts were pretty good within french territory, thus mt interest in the mapmedia charts forr french polynesia. But it would be great if they are not needed as a supplement....

I can't really comment on the Tuamotus, other than to say they appeared to be shown accurately on the charts, but it was a case of sailing by as opposed to stoping there...
