Nexus: MultiDisplay problem

I've a multi-display that all of a sudden goes and now stays in a weird startup or test routine, then goes blank and begins again.
Has anyone an idea how to stop/ reset this activity? Power cycling has no effect.
Before this started, I noticed that the display had somehow gotten into a setup setting, C50 was displayed. I then power cycled. Since it's in this continuous cycle despite power cycling. Other instruments are all still working fine.
