Re: New SiiTech AIS Reporting System For Yachts.

Didn't work with Firefox, Chrome, or IE - so I took a peek at the html source, and it's broken. The <iframe> link is broken (not terminated with a </iframe> - it appears to be truncated).

Code:
<iframe width="1400" height="800' frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://ais3.siitech.com/VTSLite/AView.aspx?lat=20.96144&lng=-20.039062&zoom=2&mmsi=237817696&set=EN

That one works. The URL looks like:

Code:
http://liveaisworld.yachtmarine.com/LIVEAISWORLD.html
The first one posted by Sinbad is still broken. If Firefox and Opera are working for Sinbad, they must be closing the broken iframe tag. I'm running Firefox 4.0, Chrome 10.0.648.204, and IE 8.0.6001.18702CO under XP SP3.2600

Folks... It's a straight forward link to a website that has worked for years...

I have tried it here with every browser in existence and it WORKS for me!

Try these successive steps:
Quote:
liveaisworld.yachtmarine.com/LIVEAISWORLD.html
If this doesn't work you must have a connection problem.

Hi all..

Your browsers must be VERY sensitive...none of mine, all the way from Brazil has ever made any objections. My server is actually in Reno...

However,I have corrected the iframe code line, closing it with </iframe> so I hope it should now be ok.

Sinbad,

I tried the url below, and it was still problematicL:
Code:
http://www.yachtmarine.com/AIS/THEWORLD.html
You may have corrected the html at the other URL's, but I just checked, and the <iframe> tag is not only missing a closing </iframe>, which is required to be truly standards compliant, but it is also missing a closing quote after the "src" directive (it just ends &set=EN). I tested it by downloading the html file to my desktop, and edited it by adding the closing quote sign and the </iframe> tag, and only then did the html file load correctly in IE8, FF4, and Chrome10.

.

Re: New SiiTech AIS Reporting System For Yachts.

Beausoleil..

Thanks for pointing out the coding errors... I had corrected them but owing to a file name error it never came through. It should now be ok.

See you have a Formosa 51. Great ship.. I've visited Taiwan several times and been to their yard. A friend of mine lost a crew member overboard in a North Sea gale some years ago owing to a cracked steering quadrant. It was supposed to be manufactured in stainless steel but was instead a casting with an unholy mix of metals from the ship break yards..

Normally, all new owners sailed over to Hong Kong where they changed all the rigging material etc. before proceeding on their delivery voyages. Things probably have changed by now.

Thanks again and a Happy Easter to you and all our colleagues.

Tore

Re: New SiiTech AIS Reporting System For Yachts.

The link worked this morning and it still works now -- using Firefox.

Just now I tried Opera -- no chart displayed.
Tried Internet Explorer -- no chart displayed.
Firefox again -- looks good.

It looks great on FireFox.
Ok, now that we got the link figured out, what is this all about and what is it going to do?

Re: New SiiTech AIS Reporting System For Yachts.

Sorry about that folks... The page WAS working ok before but we seem to have some problems at the moment. I will check it out tomorrow.

ANYWAY.. you can view the Siitech network here as well:
The main point of this thread is that Siitech is in the process of setting up a special server to collect AIS data from yachts around the world via internet whenever they are within range of long range Wi-Fi systems. They are also trying to negotiate with a Canadian satellite system for the direct collection of yacht data from yachts equipped with AIS transponders.
