Navionics on iPad....

Hello all,
Is it possible to insert a waypoint at precise lat/long on the navionics app?
I have some coordinates and I would like to insert waypoints Exactly in those positions.

I start using the navionics app lately and I found it useful but really basic.
I haven't been able to customize the info bar either.
It insist telling me how much fuel I burnt and I haven't found possible to have speed or heading instead....

Thank you!!

Re: Navionics on iPad....

I just pulled up my navionics app and was also unable to directly input waypoints. In another tread I was asking if navionics had a way to import / export waypoints and routes. Contacted navionics and they replied extremely fast but said currently there is not. I was going to match that app to my inavx app.

I do know in inavx you can insert waypoints directly from coordinates. I did it for specific dive sites. I also have a lot of routes built and exported these to my garmin handheld so that on trips I have an exact duplicate. It is a litter bother to add a waypoint within a route. You put it in then go to an edit mode and move it but other than that it seems to be quite a bit more detailed than navionics app. The software is $50US and charts are $50US, I found both worth the expense. Charts are from xtraverse app is from inavx.

I sail Caribbean and find the charts great.

By the way I also have the garmin app and just tried to input a waypoint directly and did not see how to do it. Garmin and navionics are very similar in there presentations and usability I think.

Re: Navionics on iPad....

The best way I've found for inputting Lat/Long is to use the search function in the Navionics app. To do it...
1. Click the magnifying glass in the top, left corner which will open the side bar.
2. In the title block of that new menu, there should be a button for Lat/Long (just above the search bar)
3. When you click Lat/Long it will change the menu to a screen that you can input your values, do that then click "Show on Map"
4.It will show you the point on the map with a small title block above the point -- tap the title block to go to the edit screen
5. Tap "Marker" and you can add it as a waypoint

Hope that helps -- let me know if you'd like to see screen shots

Re: Navionics on iPad....

I found this on Amazon, Navionic HD Unleashed Kindle Edition which was written for marine navigation. For $3.99 I'm going to give it a try.
