Thumbs up National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Publications

The thread titled deviation deviation chart referred to the American Practical Navigator, more popularly known as Bowditch's after its original author, Nathaniel Bowditch.

If you want the most recent copy - along with a treasure trove of maritime info, use what you already paid for (us US citizens, anyway!):
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Publications website.

It's probably been posted here before, but it never hurts to be reminded of this source...

Pilot charts of the world? It's in there. World port index? It's in there. NOAA Chart #1 with symbols? It's in there. Sight reduction tables? It's in there.

You get the picture...

How about contributing links to other maritime publications by governments around the world. Then Gord can make this a sticky-thread!

And.... not only are the charts for the entire US free here, but so are piloting and anchoring guides for the ENTIRE US:

Navigational Charts - Office of Coast Survey

(click on "coast pilot" at the top)

I'm using Skiipper Bob's to determine some of the best places to get food and whatever along the Itracoastal shortly, but if you look at the Coast Pilot, it's got all you need.
