We load all media on hard drives. Simple and accessible anywhere. We just use bog standard media players like vlc.
Podcasts using Doggcatcher on phones / tablets and audible books
on our kindles.
We don't touch any apple or proprietary crapware like itunes. That might work if you are 100% apple.

and podcasts from our phones to bluetooth speakers / headsets while underway.
All our digital media is mastered on a mirrored raid nas onboard and synced to aws s3 and glacier when we have internet
