A repeater is a great way to go. We have a Garmin GMI-10 that shows all manner of information, including all of the nav stuff from the plotter, which is a Lorance 7300 HD. So right now the CP stays at the nav station, although I have wired things up so I could move it to a swinging companion way mount when wanted , and then back to the table when it is not needed there.

Another opinion.......I like the swinging comanionway setup.....On some boats I see way to many gizmos on the pedastal....keep in mind that these items are going to be out in the elements......

Personally I don't like cluttered pedestals....I've seen too many poorly thought out ones that impede moving around the cockpit and catching sheets/jacklines etc.
