Manufacturers of The Finest Engineering Products

This thread is to compile a list of manufacturers who are producing the finest engineering products that you are using at work, at home or while sailing/flying. It is easy to knock down mediocrity, but this is for you to share with us what you consider a great engineering "marvel". (Not affiliated with any of these companies.)
A few companies that stand out...Tektronix and Fluke...for the finest in electronics diagnostics instruments; no one write state of the art manuals the way they do. Their instruments are built like tanks, versatile and very reliable.
For music...SONY and BOSE...among the finest in workmanship and performance.
Which best engineering built "toys" stand out with you? Mauritz

How about the Internet and the World Wide Web created by a consortium of companies, governments, and individuals. Pretty amazing reliability.

My MacBook pro is the best computer I've ever owned. Pricy, work bought it for me, but ultra-reliable. I think I reboot it a few times a year....

I would mention our new green machine, but this isn't my tractor forum....

Tek scopes , maybe in the 80s not today though , there's better about. The leader in test gear for me was always HP , but Agilent is a poor successor

Music, well Linn beats most , Sony is a triumph of marketing , and today produces mediocre stuff mostly produced in other people's factories, Bose is a triumph of packaging over engineering , bang & Olfsun are better at the packaging and the engineering , senhesier make the best headphones

Diesels.

I put certain Toyota engines up there with the very best , followed by VW/Audi

Boats , if on an engineering basis , I say Amel, or perhaps K&M

Computers

Hmmm, pass , apple for design , but not necessarily reliability .

Hand held power tools , Fein and Festool ( both crazy money though ) but streets ahead of others

In terms of hand tools, I'll take my Estwing hammer over just about anything out there. In fact, I'm using the one my dad had when I was a child.

Elecraft for amateur HF radio gear.

Snap-On and Facom for a broad range of mechanic's hand tools.

Switchcraft for mechanical electronic parts (switches of course, but also the best 1/8" TRS phone plugs I've seen)

Gulfstream for large business jets (hope someone finds THAT useful!)
