Link 2000 E10 Error code

I have an older Link 2000 which has worked fine for many years. Recently it began to show an E10 error message (lost power) which resets to the normal display when any button is pressed. Then sometime in the future, maybe hours, it will trigger the E10 message again. This happens with shore power plugged in and when at anchor, but not when charging with the engine running. There does not appear to be a break in the power wire. The E10 message also shows up when the voltage falls below the minimum acceptable level (which I can't seem to find a reference to) but I wouldnt have thought this would happen with shore power?

If anyone has experienced this or have any suggestions I would appreciate it. Xantrex were not very helpful when I called them .

Thanks

Re: Link 2000 E10 Error code

I have a R2000 link which is different from the model you have, I had a similar problem. The cure was removing the fuse (in effect turning the unit off) and waiting about 20seconds before reconnecting the power. Much like rebooting.

Hope this helps

The E10 means just what you said; lost power. It could be the fuse holder, or anything else that could cause an intermittent connection. Standard answer to any electrical weirdness on a boat is to check the ground, too.

We also have the Link and have found that even a little corrosion on the in-line fuse holder can cause the problem. In our case I was able to open the holder, remove and clean the contact ends of the fuse, push the contacts within the holder out the open ends and clean those and then applied a little "NoOx" to the surfaces of the contacts and the fuse ends. The foregoing seemed to have cured the problem.

FWIW...

Yup, fuse holder funky. Been there, fixed that. "I am an expert on all of my boat's systems, except for the ones that haven't failed yet."
