Link 10 battery monitor

I have a Link 10 that I installed new about 18 years ago that still works superbly, but has developed a small fatique tear or rip in the soft facia, where its constantly pushed in order to retrieve the digital data. Link 10 is no longer available. I just purchased from a private seller on ebay an "empty shell" with the needed round face attached to it. The case is two plastic halves snapped together and attached to the face). There are no connection terminals. I was able to take the shell apart and remove it from the face.

Does anyone know what this was ever intended for? Maybe for display only? The face is exactly the same as mine and I'm hoping I can somehow remove my face from the working unit and swap in this new one. Can anyone advise? (I'm away from my boat until June so won't be able to start the 'operation' until then.)
Thanks,

Re: Link 10 battery monitor

I guess the simple question I'm trying to ask is: Has anyone reading this ever taken a Link 10 battery monitor apart? Will I be able to remove my existing round face from the guts of the unit, and swap in my "new" face?

The Link Owners' Manual is silent, on the subject.
