LG Solar panels?

Anyone have any experience or opinions with LG solar panels? Specifically, I am considering the LG315N1C 315W panel...it has more compact dimensions than Kyocera.

A salesman recommended solarworld panels made in USA, they are cheaper...any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Re: LG Solar panels?

Have not worked with them, on paper the specifications look good. Module efficiency of 18.9% and degradation of -0.6%/year put them ahead of both SolarWorld and Kyocera on both counts. Both of the others are quite well constructed and respected names, but to me the space limitations of a boat argue for the highest possible efficiency (as long as it is real). If you are looking at these might as well also look at the Panasonic HIT modules, which offer even better efficiency. And then there's the Sunpower modules....

Re: LG Solar panels?

We have a Neste 13 y.o. unit here. As good as new. Someone told me at that time Neste were LG made.

Our LG one has good mechanical build. We have another, China build one (NN shiongpong something), basically identical looks ... nowhere close to that old unit in terms of quality ;-(

Here, 100W costs you 100 freedom units, when you buy Chinese. I think it makes sense to buy higher quality if you want your installation to last.
