KVH Sailcomp 103ac, Still Relevant?

Hi All,

I have an older Sailcomp 103ac installed on my boat. I am looking to upgrade the majority of my systems to NMEA 2000 sensors, displays and Chartplotters.

The manual says that the Sailcomp is NMEA 0183. Does this system have any value to a modern boat system? Will it provide anything valuable to the network? Seems to me it was built for those who wanted to race and I don't think I will ever do that on this particular boat.
