Kenyon Knotmeter Wiring Question

I have an old Kenyon knot meter. Uses a 9 volt battery inside the back cover. Has 3 terminals marked + xducer, - gnd, & + lights----no problem here but it also has a red & black wire coming from inside the unit---question---where does the red & black wire connect to?

Try panbo.com. They apparently service older marine instruments. Good luck.
