Hello, am on board a vessel, and the ecdis system hard drive went bad, we changed it and installed Win XP 2005, now the Ecdis kernel is lost, no chart, no user permit.
What do we do, because we sail to west africa and we got a technician but they couldn't solve the issue.

you would need the install software and charts and software install keys. copies of all of these should have been left on the boat on DVD's etc. sounds like you don't have them. better yet would have been a complete copy of the hard drive.

probably not much you can do.
