Just curious

Is it possible to easily incorporate a tablet into a N2K network?

Re: Just curious

Yes you can. An SMTP app will help. Are you talking android or apple? I can test here for you and advise

Re: Just curious

I am just starting to think about this so I haven't even decided on which tablet, though I am leaning toward Apple.

This would be for below decks, moving from nav station to salon table, etc. Hopefully, not too complicated

I will Google SMTP

There are a few devices out there. Example:

FWIW, NMEA is standardizing "OneNet" which is N2K on Ethernet. One may want to see how that affects the current proprietary products before spending $$ on a solution.

Re: Just curious

My aplogies being an computer tech we refer to a server as n2k hence the smtp. You are referring to nema 2000 which can be done also most reliably by a wifi interface.
