Isolation Transformer and SSB

I'm getting ready to install a Charles Isolation Transformer, a system that isolates the shoreside power from the shipside power via a magnetic coupling. My intended location for mounting the unit is about 12" away from the SSB antenna tuner and GTO antenna wire. Any experience regarding this unit really messing with the SSB??

While most SSB use is underway or at anchor (in which case the isolation transformer isn't in use), but at other times we like to check in with the nets while at dock and on shore power.

Any thoughts?? Thanks.
Steve

No problem

No reason to believe that the transformer will affect SSB or tuner operation.

There is no reason why an isolation transformer should create either conducted or radiated (RF) noise. Having said that, if it were me, I'd do a temp install and make sure as a mag field in close proximity to your tuner can effect some of the relay-type auto-tuners. Not knowing what tuner you have, it's impossible to predict for sure.

You might get free AC power when keying the SSB! But no, I don't think there will be trouble as long as you ground the housing to ships ground.

cheers,
Nick.
