Is the iSatPhone Marine Active Antenna Worthwhile ?

We currently have a handheld isat phone pro. While it works well enough if you are outside the steel pilot house, the signal is hard to obtain inside. We are interested in first hand experience with the isat phone marine active antenna. Does it increase connectivity?

Re: Is the isat phone marine active antenna worthwhile?

Steel blocks all radio signals. Cell phone, sat phone, gps, all of them. If you want to use any radio device inside or under a steel enclosure, an external boosted (active) antenna is the way to make it work.

That may mean you will be tethered to a cable, but that's the way it goes.
