We are about to install an Iridium
What do you folks do for a wifi
I'd like one that tracks data usage by device, and ideally set per device limits. I hope to use the web compression
proxy from MailASail, and then firewall certain protocols (HTTP) to only use that proxy. I'm guessing this means reflashing the router with custom firmware, like OpenWRT or etc.
I've looked at the RedBox wifi
router from MailASail. It looks great, but is quite expensive, especially when I add the shipping
charges to Tahiti
. If that's all that will work, then I will do it, but I used to managing cloud servers and am savvy with setting up firewall rules and etc on a router that gives command line access. I also feel that I may eventually want more flexibility than it offers, to, for example, allow WhatsApp texting (maybe through a proxy that I build, that blocks large attachments. Has anyone else rolled their own router, and want to share the firewall rules they made?
What do you guys think? Also, does anyone have any experience with MailASail's web proxy-- how good is it?
