IP camera on Raymarine ethernet (SeaTalk HS)

Hi there

Has anyone had success adding a non Raymarine IP camera into SeaTalk NG? If so can you let me know what camera? I would like one on the mast aimed down & forward to help coming onto the mooring solo.

Current set up - e127 (data Master), e7D, a78, HD color Radome - all on the original SeaTalk HS Switch (takes standard Cat 6 cable). Also SeaTalk NG network.

I have had no success with a Foscam F19800P camera.

Gave up as other things needed to be done to get back in the water. I will probably just WiFi it via a 12 volt WiFi router I have installed to my iPhone/iPad. but will have another look at it later in the year.

Wifi seems like the easiest solution. My chartplotter, with all its' bells and whistles, is way to complicated for my needs. I resort to my Navionics app on my iPad more and more.

I've gotten this one to work, though never installed it anywhere. Not sure if newer versions work or not.

If I remeber correctly you need to find one that is ONVIF compliant, allows anonymous log in, and can be set to 720p.

Curious, how hard was it to set up? The raymarine cameras are quite expensive.

It wasn't difficult, but had to play around with the settings to get it right. That took a few tries between connecting it to the laptop and then to the raymarine network. If I recall, I followed what raymarine posted on their forum for what the camera needs to be set to. I did that and it worked right away, but there were some other settings I played with to tweak it.
