IP 66 Monitor Group Buy

I am interested in putting up a group buy of IP66 monitors. I f we can get to 10, I can pull out a reasonable price.
My wants are 10-12"
800 or better nit brightness
Seal inputs.
Touch screen
Lots of others.

Let me know your wishes.

Yes, I am putting together a system around CPN.

Re: IP 66 Monitor Group Buy

Here are some additional requirements I have...

Touch that works when wet (resistive touch, not capacitive, if I understand this right)

800 nits will not be great in bright sunlight from what I’ve read

HDMI video, USB for touch

Minimum 1080 horz resolution and landscape 16:9 orientation

Prefer as narrow a bezel as possible

Front panel hard buttons are nice for common function mapping but needs to project those as keyboard keys that can be macro/mapped.

Backlight that is dimmable

Most I have looked at are 1000 nits.

Re: IP 66 Monitor Group Buy

I am potentially interested.

I agree with the requirements articulated thus far but would clarify that it is crucial that the brightness must be accessible from buttons on the front of the unit (so that the unit can be mounted in a nav pod) and must be sufficiently dimmable so that it is usable at night (which as described in a recent post, is not true of all displays).

We are drying up here. Probably need 10 commitments to make this work.

Re: IP 66 Monitor Group Buy

My guess is that you would need to do legwork to find the unit that matches needs and get a price. With specs and price people may be more interested?

I talked earlier this year to about five vendors (all in China) for a similar unit. Prices all over the place and I didn’t move forward because I didn’t want to take the risk that the unit wasn’t going to be reliable, handle rain/water etc. All of them were willing to sell a single sample before volume purchase and I didn’t ask about returns. It may be with sufficient interest we could pick a unit, maybe pool funds to purchase a test unit? Not sure how to work that out, but that’s what I was worried about.

Re: IP 66 Monitor Group Buy

All the monitors are manufactured overseas. The only differences really is the packaging and whom is doing. I was dealing with a vendor in Charlotte NC, bacsically a reseller for Tiwain stuff.
I ssee your interst is high. I am willing to work with some one and put it together.
Will do more research and share info with you.
