Re: Internet access via WIFI

It should look like the attached image. If not, maybe try a different browser, clear cache, disable all popup blockers, enable javascript, etc.

All of the boxes below "Security" are not there until WPA-AES is selected though.

That worked!
I changed from Chrome to IE11. The boxes you mention show up
It did not ask for a logon, just a key. OK I Typed in the key ,hit change , hit apply.
On the main page : zero signal strength, AP MAC Not associated
(This comes and goes as i mentioned in a previous message.)
Than I opened a new tab typed in some web address

--> I get "Cant reach this page" iow No connection

At this point there is clearly something wrong with the bullet.. It's either the unit, the configuration, or the antenna.

I suggest doing a few things..

1.) Try enabling WDS, save/apply, and see if it starts working properly.
2.) Since clearly the chrome browser was acting funny, there could be some settings in the device in a strange state. I would either reset it back to factory and start over using the working IE11 browser, or at the very least, go through every setting and double check that some hidden setting box was not missed before.
You may even want to go through and unset settings, then re-set them to be sure.
3.) Upgrade to AirOS to 6.1.9. There are no specific fixes that sound right, but you never know.

Thank you Richard for your patience and persistence in this matter.
And a big 'thank you' to all contributors for your time and effort.
I will publish the results in due course when I get this Bullet working properly, in the mean time Happy New Year to all. Thanks

One other issue to be aware of when you are testing the bullet by logging into your router: the bullet is high power and can interfere with the router wifi connection to your laptop if they are both 2.5ghz and close together. So for this testing, I would make sure and plug your laptop directly into the router rather than connect via wifi.

Keep at it. I believe your are close.

Re: Internet access via WIFI

Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!
I reset the bullet to factory and started again.

I used TFTPD64 v4.62 ( a free program) and a Youtube video called "Revert/UBNT bulletM2 Firmware from DD-WRT to OEM factory stock" for guidance.
I flashed Bullet M with version XW v6.1.8.....bin. It is now working perfectly.

Paid.. as well as Open AP's are listing.

[B][Thank you all again for your great help.../B]

Glad to hear it.. It sounds like the web browser wasn't playing nice with the AirOS gui and causing some hard to see problems.. Resetting and starting fresh was the best approach I think

Re: Internet access via WIFI

Ubiquiti used to be an excellent choice for boats until v6 of airOS removed WEP and TKIP and now you run into problems being able to connect to land based wifi that are "encrypted" but insecure. They are "helping" us by disabling this feature we used to have and really don't care if we don't like it. I've got 2 of their devices on my boat that are useless more often than not now.
