Intergrating Sirius XM Weather With Maxsea?

We're in the process of getting Furuno Maxsea time zero instrumentation installed, and I am wondering about intergrating Sirius XM weather and dumping our old weather fax, which still does work.

Does anyone have experience with Sirius weather and Maxsea time zero?

Our cruising for the next few years will be east coast US, then maybe to the Caribbean.

Thanks!

Not 100% sure but I think Sirius is coastal US only.

Sirius weather products and coverage

HHNTR111,
There's been a lot written about this, and I'll post some links for you....

And while Sirius will provide you with good coverage, I'd not be too quick to dump your wefax unit (I love my Furuno FAX-408, and my old Alden still works most of the time)......but, if you decide to get rid of it, let me know.....

Not knowing how you are equipped, but someone considering offshore passages should (in my opinion) not rely on just one source of weather data/forecasts, and certainly not put their eggs in the Sirius basket alone.....(since their coverage is good, but not complete.....and the data/forecasts they provide are availble elsewhere, for FREE, and much more reliably...)

Here are some photos of my Nav Station, showing my WeFax set-up, etc... Nav Station

Gord and John,

Thanks very much! We'll be doing coastal cruising until the big moment, in 2-3 years, than further afield. As long as there are wx broadcasts on SSB, I think I'll keep the Furuno weather fax. I'll probably also get Sirius.

Good info, and thanks again!
