Icom M802 SSB - MMSI which part?

Anyone know where the MMSI is stored on the 802? which part the remote display head or the big black box part?

Is it hard to reset it?

Thanks

Get yourself the Icom 802 cloning software from the Antenna Farm (google it). You can then change anything you want on the radio including the MMSI.

deepthought,
It's stored in non-volatile memory in the "main unit", the big black box part, as you wrote...(although not sure why you'd need to know that...

And, no, it is not hard to reset, and is easily done by you, for free, in just one minute....with just a few key strokes from the front panel....
The exact procedure is explained on page 15 of the M-802 manual (first page of chapter 6)....

But, be aware that you can only re-program the MMSI# twice (via this front-panel / user program method)....

times only. This code is displayed when the power is
turned ON.
Should you need to reprogram it more than twice, you will need an Icom dealer, or the programming/cloning software and programming cable...as it is done thru this software, NOT by any internal reset....(best to keep your fingers out of the radio!!)

I hope this helps...

Fair winds...
