Icom ic M700

I have an icom m700, hadn't switched it on in four years, was working fine before, there is now no sound from the speaker, now I didn't have it fully installed when I checked it, it did plug in the tuner, but didn't connect any earths either between radio and ground, or tuner, but it still should play some white noise, there is nothing, I did leave it switched on for about half an hour, and still nothing. checked inside, speaker connections ok, but couldn't get any voltage reading at speaker, messed with speaker on off switch and potentiometer, nothing, anyone got any ideas.

Re: Icom ic M700

I will try that, but I have to find some headphones with the correct size of plug.

i have the same model and also had the built in speaker stop working.
i used a cheap car speaker,on a bit of cable ,i think the plug is a standard 4.5mm mono or stereo head phone jack plug.

Re: Icom ic M700

Not sure about the M700 but the speaker won't work on the M710 unless the mic is connected.
