ICOM Help

This might be a long shot however perhaps somebody can help me out. I have a chance to buy a used Icom M710.

It would be sight unseen however the price seems right. The serial # is 01519. Would anybody be able to relate the age of this unt based in knowing the purchase date of their own M710 and the serial number of their unit.

It might give me a rough idea as to the age. There is an AT 130, I do not know when this unit was first offered for sale, common sense says they were bought together.

Would this Radio be a 90's or 2000 vintage.

Thanks guys

Fletch

Re: ICOM Help

you could email icom for that info on age. But the m710 is still in production. as for buying it used personally i would not encourage it. i had quite a few customers who brought used ssb radios an they were screwed over by it.

Re: ICOM Help

Try this guy on ebay selling seller refurbished Icom 710's for very reasonable prices.

Icom IC-M710 HF Marine SSB FCC/DOC Radio+Mic+DC Cord | eBay

I've purchased and installed one of his units and am VERY happy with what I got. Apart from a couple of very minor scratches on the case it looks like a new unit at a grand less. Click on sellers other items to see all units being offered. Be aware that some of the units are CE/EU (for European installs) and some are FCC/DOC (US).

No connection beyond being a happy customer.
