Icom 802 Reset

Is there a way to reset all the channels on an Icom 802 SSB to original factory settings?

I remember with the 802 on my last boat I had a bunch of really useful frequencies pre-programmed (like all the WLO frequencies) the 802 in my new boat has none of these...

Thanks,

Bill

I don't think there is a reset.

You could buy the programming SW and cable yourself, to make chages quickly. Or possibly upload the settings from another cruiser, then download them into your M802:

CS-M802 [GC-1000] - $39.95 : The Antenna Farm, Your two way radio source

Any Icom dealer should be able to help too.

Re: Icom 802 Reset

There is no "reset" ..the programmed channels depend entirely on whom you purchased it from....only thing to do is as per last post...or ...tediously go through and reprogram all the channels you need...individually...

Don't you have to program your favorites into the radio yourself? Into the scan?

Your instruction book would be your friend here, the company's customer service people should be willing to answer your questions if you can't figure it out from the book.

Re: Icom 802 Reset

Most people I know who use an 802 leave it in the frequency dial mode and dial in the freq they want from a cheat sheet.

Re: Icom 802 Reset

The M802 has 160 user channels, any of which can be reprogrammed.

Plugging in a desired channel every time you want to use the radio is tedious at best. Much better to take your time and program in many or most of the frequencies (channels) you plan to use.

Instructions for programming, and an original channel list (there have been several) can be found here:

Icom M-802 Programming Instructions
