How to test if my transducer is working

Hello,

We bought a new to us boat a couple years ago and have never been able to get depth readings. We have a Garmin Intelliducer (supposed to give us depth and temp) and a Garmin 51S chartplotter. The transducer is hooked up to the network. Is there a way to test if the transducer is bad while we have the boat on the hard so we can replace if necessary before we launch for the season?
