How to Communicate?

My wife and I will be split up soon. She will be attending a stewardess class in Ft. Lauderdale in Aug. and I will be in Navarre Florida. If all goes well she will find employment and be at sea while I start up a business in Navarre. We are looking for suggestions on how to communicate with each other. Are there certain phone plans, possibly wireless satelite computer systems etc. We just want to be able to communicate while she is underway. Thanks for any help.

I assume she's looking into working on private yachts? Most vessels of any size these days have sat comms for Internet access, possibly satellite phones to some extent with limited access depending on the vessel(it's still expensive)

Skype is a VOIP like Vonage but there is sign up fee. It is free for computer to computer, and computer to land lines cost about .02 per minute.
Skype – Make free calls and great value calls on the internet

I think Magic Jack charges too much for international calls where Skype is free for computer to computer calls world wide.

Skype, computer to computer, is FREE. Even with a camera so you can see each other. To a phone anywhere in the world less than $0.03 per minute. Denny is right. Skype (or similar) is the way to go.
