Help with WirieAP

I've had numerous problems with the Alpha router contained in the Wirie case. The helpdesk have replaced it twice, but will no longer replace for free, wanting $100.00 for a replacement. I've noticed that Amazon has the same router for sale for $59.00. I'd like to know if anyone has replace the Wirie router with the Amazon router? If so, what were the steps?

2 days and nobody answered...so...

I cannot help you with the Wirie....but I can tell you that I used an Alfa AWUS36 (?) for a few years before stepping up to a decent on-board Wi-Fi system!!

I went for the Bullet-based system from Island Time PC...
Best $200 investment I made in a decade!!
(100 times better than a Wirie and about the same $$$)

Marine WiFi Systems
(although Bob now uses/recommends the Groove, my old Bullet and 12vdc router have worked flawlessly for years now!)
Bob is not only a knowledgeable guy about all of this, but is also a sailor and part-time cruiser himself!
I recommend him highly!
