Chase, I' be been following your discussion. I have the same problem my 492 doesn't "talk to my wheel ST6002 smartpilot. I get SOG&COG but will not go to a way point. I have the same wiring set up as you describe. Keep trying. I am wondering if the NEMA - from the 492 needs to skip the electric ground and go to the AP? Also I have all the sentences on the Garmin turned selected. Does any one know the correct ones to have on? Many be too much info going in?
Also I have a Matrix GX3000s I'm the system and it receives all info.

Chase, did you figure out how to get the GPS and AP talking?

Re: Help with NMEA Connection ?

Hi Samantha, I had to pack it up and head back to the mountains, 400 miles inland. I'm going to try updating my Garmin, which has had no updates since new in 07. After that, I'll try Garmin tech support. If I figure it out I'll post.
