Handheld GPS that works with CM93?

So I'm in the market for a floating, handheld GPS to mark fishing spots and serve as my "ditch bag" GPS.

I'd prefer to be able to load the CM93 charts on it, as I have them and don't need this to be super-accurate.

Does the Garmin 78sc work with CM93? Anybody know?

Cheers,

-Nate

No handheld marine GPS uses PC-based charts that I'm aware of. Garmins use their Bluechart format. Your only option would be to get a wx-resistant Android tablet, root it and install Linux on it with OpenCPN, or find a Wx-resistant Microsoft Surface Pro tablet and put OpenCPN on that.

Is this for worldwide use? The Garmin 78sc does have the capability to import custom maps, but they must be converted to jpeg format first. You could do screen prints from a PC running a cm93-capable program, but that would be tedious for anything more than just a few charts.

Awesome answer. And yes, it would be for worldwide use... I'll try the custom maps import and see what I think.

If you want the charts inside then I think no cheap gps does that.

We use an Android and OpenCPN for cm.

I use a netbook with MaxSea and OpenCPN too. Both use cm maps.
