GPS / CP / Wind Speed / Depth for Medium Cruiser

I’m in the process of buying (survey, sea trial pending) a 38’ Morgan that needs a GPS/Chartplotter, wind instruments and depth. I’m leaning toward one of the Garmin 400 or 500 series and Garmin wind instruments. Total cost uninstalled is almost $2,000.

Are there alternatives I should look at either new technologies (i.e. wireless) or other manufactures that work as well or better for a lower price?
