Good email & weather software for SSB?

Looking for advice on best email & weather software for use on our ICOM 802 SSB. Will be transitting from Savannah to Caribbean in a couple of weeks and want to be "tuned in!"

Then go to SailMail quickly and sign up as well as downloading all their software. You do have a pactor hookup already right? Otherwise forget e-mail.

BTW....even though it works well...spending a grand or more for a pactor and $250 bucks a year for text e-mail when wifi and cybercafes are abudant in the Caribe strikes me as unnecessary. You can get ,$50 soundcard based we-fax programs to get weather faxes off your SSB and also listen to Chris Parker every morning to get all the weather you need. See Chris' frequencies and schedules at caribwx.com.
good luck!

EDIT: By the way...you can download a good we-fax/navtex program here as a trial version and it is $35 bucks if you like it. Works well...

I've found most of the GRIB viewers to be pretty funky and poorly written. I think one of the better ones is the grib.us viewer, available free at GRIB.US > Home . Only for Windows, and requires registration, but the interface is modern and seems to work well. It will download the GRIB files automatically if you have internet access, but can also open ones downloaded or received in some other fashion.

Just passing it along, hope it's useful to someone.
