GME G152C G-plot NMEA 0183

Hi Guys,

I am using this plotter along with a Verspermarine AIS. I am using the plotter's internal GPS to provide position information to the AIS over NMEA 0183. I set up NMEA port 1 outbound and it works great.

Now I would like to get AIS Data to the plotter. NMEA 1 has both Input and Output leads suggesting it can be used for both at the same time.

Is this the case or should I use NMEA 1 for GPS output and NMEA2 for AIS input?

TIA

Steve

I'm pretty sure you can't feed GPS to the ais... It requires its own.

Ais is 38,400 so it needs its own port. connect plotter in to ais out

The vespar may accept input at 38,400 if you change it. Then you could use same port. But again I don't think there is anything to feed to it
