Re: Furuno NavNet 3D Crashes?

I have not had any hang/reboot issues since they fixed the tide station issue.

Re: Furuno NavNet 3D Crashes?

We are persevering with our NN3D 8 lots of back up but like you it was a big outlay when you add the price of the charts and we have many folios now. Would be REALY pissed off if they can't be moved to a new FURUNO Device when the time comes. Worth more than the machine. Occasionally does funny boots.

Our NN3D/MFD12 is from 2009, working fine since the 2.11 firmware update and the tide tables fix.

I remember at the time, Furuno's support site provided excellent customer service...

I did have some odd/unexpected auto-reboots (so to speak) on it last year some time; turned out to be a main battery cable had worked slightly loose, not at all related to the electronics components.

Re: Furuno NavNet 3D Crashes?

My NN3D MFD12 refused to boot a couple years ago. Performed a master reset, reload the OS and it's been fine since.

Re: Furuno NavNet 3D Crashes?

Thanks for the updates.

I don't really like it, and in some ways was thinking I had an excuse to replace it. I much prefer using Navigator on the PC. Then I priced the latest TZ units. Holy crap! So I am glad to hear about master reset etc. I will be keeping the damn thing running as long as possible!

The problem with the NN3D is that it does everything I want it to do. I love the radar. It is slow when you sit waiting for it to boot, but when actually using it underway, it performs OK.

I have a similar issue, if I replace, what would it be? TZT2?? I don't know.

Just thought I'd let you know that I replaced the hard drive with an SSD, just in case. Started a new thread: Furuno MFD8/12 - Replace HDD with SSD - Cruisers & Sailing Forums
