Forward facing Sonar

Greets all,

Just thinking about forward facing sonar.

Been looking at various models and although pricey, seems if it saves a collision with a container / reef / whale it's worth the extra set of eyes under the water?

Does anyone have any experience with this technology and does it work as well as the manufacturers claim?

Would be nice to have an alarm go off when you're still 500m away from that submerged container.

Any thoughts and experience welcome :-)

Thanks in advance....

Dave

Good. You saved me the effort of posting a reply on your thread mentioning the previous threads.

If you have had time to read through them I guess you found out that it doesn't work for submerged containers unless you're going really slow in flat calm seas.
