Extend cable for rudder position sensor?

I want to extend the cable for a rudder position sensor of my new Raymarine SPX30 by about 8 meters. Is there any recommendation for the type of cable to be used? (Impedance, capacitance, ....) What are the restrictions regarding maximum length?
