display replacement autopilot raytheon 6000+

The cockpit-mounted digital display of my Raytheon 6000+ autopilot is faded (burnt by sunlight UV?) so id like to replace it, any experiences or advice?

Ummm - replace it? Unless you are asking about replacing the whole AP system, I don't think you can go away from Raymarine for the control head/display on their AP's.

I recently replaced the LCD panel on my st4000+. Was easy but I'm a techie by trade. Finding the part was the hard part... Got it here on CF

Cf member Capn Dan repairs autopilots for a fee. He sold me the screen. Real helpful gentleman.

this is very usefull information. I feared these "old" units might not be repairable to the extent of getting new parts, great. Thanks again.
