Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find schematics and maybe even a logic description of the common Danfoss controller?

Background:
I got tired of manually defrosting my Danfoss powered fridge and built a digital thermostat with defrost intervals.
Now I'm thinking that since I've got so much computing power and relay ports available I might as well replace the controller all together.

Lots of info on the Danfoss site. Are you looking for actual circuit diagrams of the controller board or just schematics for wiring to the controller?

I'm looking for the schematics of the controller board. Or even better a description of the logic and what goes in and out on what pin.

I suspect that actual schematics might be hard to come by, but check the site and contact Danfoss from there. Loads of literature on there various products there (Group Global - Danfoss) ... although does require some effort to wade through and find what you want.

Something related you should check out. Some newer Danfoss compressors are now Bluetooth enabled. And, they have a software tool to work with the controller (Tool4Cool). See http://www.ra.danfoss.com/TechnicalI..._pi300b102.pdf.

I have not used this configuration, but it sure looks cool.

I'll try to download it over night (I'm in Mexico so the connection is somewhat slow).

Nice, bluetooth programming sounds cool (pardon the pun)

I don't think they'll give it to me. The conversation would go something like this:
-Hi, I'd like the full specs to your controller.
-OK, what do you need it for.
-Well, I'm going to reverse engineer it and make a much more energy efficient and modern controller with defrost cycles, user customization, energy monitoring that I plan to make available for less than half the price of the original unit.
-I see. Goodbye.
