Connectng VHF to Cockpit Stereo Speaker

Hi,
Was hoping to be able to connect the VHF to an existing cockpit speaker to avoid having to fit a dedicated speaker.
Thought I had the solution when I found this

However, on contacting the supplier, they advisd me that they were out of stock, and the manufacturer was no longer trading.
Does anyone else know of a similar product, or of a similar means to achieve the same result

My setup as installed by the boat manufacturer simple uses a two pole-two way toggle switch working with just the right cockpit speaker. Wire switch so it connects either external VHF speaker output or normal music system (just one channel) to the speaker of your choice.

Think I'll take the switch route for the time being, and maybe in the future some will start producing those interface units again

Nigel, personally I'd prefer a dedicated speaker in the belief that there's one less switch, etc. that can fail or cause a problem cross-connecting the VHF and stereo. No big deal really to find an inexpensive speaker with a good grill and dedicate it to the job.

You might also check your stereo, some of them have a "cell phone mute" wire that mutes the stereo when a cell phone (or in your case, VHF) audio output is detected. And some of those allow the "cell phone" audio to be played over the stereo's speakers, automatically.
