I just purchased a new Raymarine
chart plotter and a Vesper marine AIS
transceiver, both manufacturers advise not to place the equipment
within three feet of a compass
, but my compass
is built in at my helm
with a nice red light, for night viewing.
It's not practical for me to place my new equipment
displays more than three feet away from the helm
From what I've observed, this advice is routinely ignored, but I like to install equipment in compliance with the manufacturers instructions.
