Clarion M475 remote control head problem

I have a Clarion M475 radio hooked to a Clarion remote via a M101RXC-RET cable. The system has worked fine for 2 years. While the radio still works fine, I can no longer control it from the remote head. The remote is powered, but there is no information on the screen nor do any of the control features work. I have hooked up a new M101RXC-RET cable, but continue to have the same issue. Anyone have any experience with this happening to them? Can the control head fail in that mode (powered up but not working)? Thanks.
